Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has today visited Blairgowrie Delivery Office to pass on his thanks to local Royal Mail workers.

Mr Swinney met with staff and was given a tour of the site floor, allowing him to witness first-hand the hard work on display to ensure that an efficient Christmas service is provided.

Commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“I am delighted to continue my annual tradition of visiting my local delivery office.

“Postal staff work tirelessly throughout the year, but their efforts are particularly important during the run up to Christmas.

“This Festive period has carried with it the additional complication of a general election, and the significant increase in mailings from political parties as a result of this process. Royal Mail staff deserve our gratitude for the tenacity and dedication they have shown to ensure that an efficient and reliable Christmas service is provided for all, despite this additional workload.

“I pay tribute to their extraordinary efforts, and thank all of the team for their hard work over the course of 2019.”
