Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, has today urged young people across Perthshire to submit their designs for the next generation of Baby Boxes.

The design, which must be submitted by October 8th by 5pm, is to be based on one of the Children’s Rights from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child – namely, the Right to Play, the Right to Freedom of Expression and the Right to Education.

Commenting, Mr Swinney said:

“The Baby Box is the Scottish Government’s commitment to giving every child born in our nation a fair start to life. By supporting parents and nourishing children, the Scottish Government know that we can build a more prosperous, just nation for all.

“Over the past year, upwards of 50,000 Baby Boxes have been given to new parents, so this is a fantastic opportunity to have your design skills showcased on a large scale. I would therefore encourage any interested young person across Perthshire to pursue this opportunity.”

Details of how to submit designs, along with other qualifying conditions, can be found at https://www.youngscot.net/new-baby-box-design/
