Perthshire North MSP, Mr John Swinney, and Perth and North Perthshire MP, Mr Pete Wishart, have today welcomed news that multiple organisations and groups within their constituencies have received National Lottery funding.
The National Lottery Community Fund has provided funding of over £400,000 in total to organisations within Perth and North Perthshire. This includes an award of £150,000 to Perth Autism Support and a grant of £138,640 to Support, Help and Integration in Perthshire (SHIP), which will allow the continued running of social clubs for children aged 5-18 with additional support needs.
Commenting, Mr Swinney said:
“This is very welcome news that will come as a boost to multiple, worthy groups within my constituency.
“We have always known the value to the community that charities and local organisations provide, but the Covid pandemic has underlined just what a pivotal role they play in supporting people from all walks of life.
“I am sure that the funding that has been awarded will be put to excellent use, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it has on Perthshire in the years to come.”
Mr Wishart added:
“I am delighted to hear that so many community organisations in my constituency have received funding from the from the National Lottery Community Fund.
“All of the beneficiaries do incredible work, and this funding will allow them to continue to uplift communities across Perth and North Perthshire.”
